FWIW, I have the same problem, and starting yelp from a command line and doing the following gives some additional output.
STEPS: start yelp from the command line Click Adding and Removing Software XML Garbage comes up Command line output: xmlXPathCompOpEval: function has-same-node not found XPath error : Unregistered function xmlXPathCompiledEval: 3 objects left on the stack. runtime error: file /usr/share/xml/gnome/xslt/docbook/html/db2html-division.xsl line 317 element apply-templates Failed to evaluate the 'select' expression.
