I have discovered (via internet post) that the block is caused by software raid metadata on the HP Phoenix hard drive.
This can be removed by the command: # dmraid -rE However, I think that partman should be aware of this metadata - or there be something in the install documentation to workaround this problem. After using dmraid as above, I was able to install ubuntu (and mint) successfully. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1211807 Title: Mint 12 and 13 do not see any partition table entries during install (and do not allow making them) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1211807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
