Recommends: network-manager-openvpn-gnome | plasma-widget- networkmanagement However the -gnome package is mandatory for this plugin to work in stock Ubuntu. Otherwise OpenVPN does not show up as an option in the VPN menu. This happens when you install packages with the no-recommends option on (which is quite useful as it prevents tons of useless packages being installed).
