With nvidia driver (I've tried several versions; currently 313), I see
gnome-shell process constantly uses around 5-6% of the CPU. Moving the
cursor is about 30% CPU on gnome shell on raring. I also see occasional
lag spikes where the cursor cannot move at all, though applications
react as though it were moving. i.e. I can click but the click goes to
the "real" position of the cursor but the rendered cursor is still at
its old position flickering slightly.
