Is there still interest in getting this issue fixed for 32-bit?

I got here via the links http://askubuntu.com/questions/204905/compaq-
presario-r3000-randomly-fails-to-boot-on-11-10-12-04-12-10 and
http://askubuntu.com/questions/87187/11-10-randomly-fails-to-boot-on-
compaq-presario-r3000

I'm having the intermittent boot issue on a Compaq Presario R3000 now
with Lubuntu 13.04. The CPU in this laptop doesn't have 64-bit
extensions... acpi=off does not fix the issue.

What can I provide to help debugging this issue?

Thanks!
