I am having trouble parsing your question. Do you mean "did this problem occur in a release prior to Precise?" I have no idea. I have only tested this on Precise. The keyboard is relatively new (2012ish), so I believe Precise was the contemporary Ubuntu version during its release. What are the next steps? I do have some experience with kernel development, so I don't mind hacking a little bit if someone can give me pointers where to start.
