I haven't tried to install Kubuntu 7.04 yet in a "real" machine. When booting from the live CD, all works correctly even inside VMware. After installation on virtual HDD, still ok. After installation of latest vmtools (build 45731) the problem appears (here attached the xorg.conf before and after such installation). I recently upgraded a Kubuntu Edgy virtual machine to Feisty through the network and the problem did NOT appear (so now I have a working Feisty VM!) even though the same vmtools were there. Anyway, I performed the suggested tests on the "broken" machine and the related records are here attached. NOTE: after issuing the xev command I pressed and released just ONCE the RIGHT button followed by the LEFT one, then I closed the window. I hope this information can be useful. If needed, I'll try to provide more.
