I´m experimenting the same problem: DISK BOOT FAILURE after instaling Ubuntu 7.04 on a hard drive with a previous Windows 2000 on C partition. I keep my mothreboard´s BIOS up to date (A Gigabyte 865G in case it means something). While I´m researching to find a solution, I´m leaving a bootable CD into my CD-ROM drive as a way of getting the -so much desired- original result and it works so far.
