** Project changed: update-manager => update-manager (Ubuntu) ** Description changed:
+ Ubuntu 13.10 + Digging around bugs reported on bugs.launchpad, i've seen a bunch of reports rised by users (mostly new comers i suppose) not knowing about versions having reached EndOfLife. - Most of these reports was against "solftware-center" : like, "got server error 500" or "i does not understand why software-center cant download even if my network works with the browser". So launchpad get flooded by invalid reports. + Most of these reports was against "solftware-center" : like, "got server error 500" or "i does not understand why software-center cant download even if my network works with the browser". So launchpad get flooded by invalid reports. Users have to be aware of such a case : the different tools (installer/updater) should detect the different EOL version, and be able to display a popup message saying something like "that version is no more available, choose a newer ubuntu release"; on the other hand Apport also need to refuse such reports. Related packages : apt, synaptic, software-center (for the gnome world; but i suppose the other DEs are also concerned) - ProblemType: Bug - DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 - Package: linux-image-3.10.0-2-generic 3.10.0-2.10 - ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.10.0-2.10-generic 3.10.0 - Uname: Linux 3.10.0-2-generic i686 - NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia - ApportVersion: 2.10.2-0ubuntu4 - Architecture: i386 - AudioDevicesInUse: - USER PID ACCESS COMMAND - /dev/snd/controlC0: oem 3477 F.... pulseaudio - /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: oem 3477 F...m pulseaudio - CRDA: Error: command ['iw', 'reg', 'get'] failed with exit code 1: nl80211 not found. - Date: Mon Jul 8 18:58:50 2013 - HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=0a9ca7f0-6eeb-4b21-b70f-670fa600de16 - IwConfig: - lo no wireless extensions. - - eth0 no wireless extensions. - - eth1 no wireless extensions. - Lsusb: - Bus 003 Device 002: ID 046d:c50e Logitech, Inc.
