Thanks for your time to report this bug and improve Ubuntu. ffmpeg as a source package has not been in Ubuntu since The Lucid Lynx. So there is no such possibility as upgrading the package. You could request for ffmpeg to be packaged again (I am unsure of the changes of success there) . As you already filed an update bug for libav (bug 1180288), I am marking this bug as invalid. Please reopen (but retitle to request for packaging) if you find this inappropriate.
The update of libav will happen automatically once the Debian libav 9 transition starts, as can be followed here: http://release.debian.org/transitions/html/libav9.html. ** Changed in: ffmpeg (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1180287 Title: Update to 1.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ffmpeg/+bug/1180287/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
