Public bug reported: samba4: on Ubuntu
Since I started upgrading from version 12.04, samba does not configure properly. On each update / install I get a problem that samba did not install. I have now found that I can do the following to narrow it down: samba-tool --configure Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/samba-tool", line 26, in <module> from samba.netcmd.main import cmd_sambatool File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/samba/__init__.py", line 27, in <module> import samba.param ImportError: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/samba/libserver-role.so: version `SAMBA_4.0.0BETA2' not found (required by /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/samba/param.so) My settings in smb.conf: realm = localdomain server role = domain controller I can browse a bit on local windows network...? apt-cache policy samba4 samba4: Geïnstalleer: 4.0.0~beta2+dfsg1-3 Kandidaat: 4.0.0~beta2+dfsg1-3 Weergawe tabel: *** 4.0.0~beta2+dfsg1-3 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: samba4 4.0.0~beta2+dfsg1-3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-36.57-generic 3.5.7.14 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-36-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8.3 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Jul 12 08:03:57 2013 InstallationDate: Installed on 2011-03-21 (843 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: samba4 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-07-09 (2 days ago) ** Affects: samba4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 raring samba-tool third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1200500 Title: Since upgrading from 12.04 to Ubuntu 13.04, samba does not configure properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba4/+bug/1200500/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
