indeed, this solution worked for me, too. Just to add: on my N581, the value for full brightness is 100. So, my file looks now like this:
The file /etc/rc.local : echo 100 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness exit 0 Maybe this can make life easier for some others, too.
