I have that problem with zfsonlinux. There should be a config option to force a start even if /etc/exports is empty.
Currently, i have two choices: Either fix the script locally (which will make problems come update time) or add some useless share like /media/helpubuntubrokemynfs (which wastes resources). I agree with the original bug reporter that the correct behavior is to start nfs-kernel-server, no matter the state of /etc/exports. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1052264 Title: nfsd won't start unless exports has content To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/1052264/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
