As of LibreOffice 3.5.7.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2) I can no longer reproduce this. I just opened a 25 page document, added spaces to the end of the first page then scrolled to the last paragraph of the last page and waited for autosave to kick off. The document stayed in place as well as my cursor was where I left it.
