Hi, thanks for taking the time to upload that extra information. It looks like you have installed the package "virtualbox" from the virtualbox website. The problem is that one of the updates needs virtualbox to be reinstalled, but because it has been installed manually and not from a software repository it is impossible to reinstall it. As you installed the software manually (Probably by downloading a .deb file) you will need to reinstall it manually.
First you need to remove the package virtualbox by running sudo apt-get remove virtualbox Then you can run the update manager and download your updates. Now, if you want to virtualbox package back you will have to go to the virtualbox website and install it. If you don't need virtualbox then just leave it uninstalled. The confusion arises because virtualbox isn't in the Ubuntu software repository, the Ubuntu packagers are waiting for the virtualbox team to send a package: until they send the package you must do everything manually. I hope this helps, please let me know if it works. -- 'update-manager' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127281 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
