Tragically yes.  I ran an update yesterday, about 121 updates, and then
tested the network set up with DHCP and with roaming mode on, and the
problem was still there.

The network appears to set up OK with the IP address assigned correctly,
and the DNS server assigned in /etc/resolv.conf as the network router,
as it all should be, but I cannot access websites in Firefox, and I
cannot reload repositories or download updates with Synaptic.

I can get Firefox to work by disabling IPv6 support, but that does not
help with the Synaptic issue.  So it is still the same situation, even
after the updates.  If you want me to do any specific testing or
configuration, let me know what you need and I will do it.
