Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird
I've tried using my gmail account with thunderbird. It receives POP emails, but fails to use the SMTP to send messages. I followed ALL the online guides for setting up the SMTP information correctly but without success. Some setups won't work at all (because of wrong smtp configuration) while other setups report failure when contacting/authenticating on the smtp servers. I also asked a friend of mine who uses thunderbird+gmail (on ubuntu) for some time and he said that his smtp has stopped working. This means that the bug might be because of a thunderbird update which made something go wrong, or because Google did something funny with their gmail so it fails to work with Thunderbird on Ubuntu. I'm using feisty. ** Affects: mozilla-thunderbird (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Can't use Gmail SMTP on thunderbird https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129132 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
