The problem exists in the 12.04 LTS too. The icon IS visible - it's just 1 pixel width in size so is as good as impossible to use.
As a temporary workaround: 1) Load Gnote from your applications menu (this loads Gnote with the 1 pixel wide tray icon) 2) Load Gnote again from your applications menu (this will bring up Gnote application window itself this time) 3) Go to Edit -> Preferences and un-check Use Status Icon 4) Re-check Use Status Icon (this makes the tray icon become full width) If you reboot your computer a lot it's a pain to do but I'm on a laptop so I suspend so this only becomes an issue once every few months. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1086203 Title: Gnote icon is not visible in the system tray To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnote/+bug/1086203/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
