I'd like to second Tim's comment about Raring being a dreadful experience for media-related people. My USB DAC is also flaky now, and rhythmbox crashes every time I un-pause audio. And of course I'm here because I was hit by the complete-freeze-on-boot issue due to the HDMI bug.
NOTHING about Raring was improved for me over the previous version of Ubuntu, and a bunch of everyday things were completely broken.
