I think it has something to do with the latest kernel deciding the card has "N" and then failing when it tries to enable it, leaving the wireless card disabled.
Issue the command sudo lshw -c network and look for the wireless interface info. I bet that it will say "*-network DISABLED". This seems to work as a temp fix: gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf add the line "options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=N 11n_disable=1" at the beginning, before the remove iwlwifi line, save the file and then sudo reboot That worked for me, with a gateway with a Intel 5100 wireless card. -- Brad Warkentin bj.warken...@gmail.com Cell: 613.799.5014 Home: 613.599.5014 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1180787 Title: Thinkpad X201 iwlwifi module stopped working in latest -21 kernel (OK in -19) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1180787/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
