Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tleds
As noted on the tleds website http://users.tkk.fi/~jlohikos/tleds/ to a minor extent, tleds may disable some keys on keyboards of certain systems. I can reproduce this on an IBM A31 laptop with Ubuntu Feisty which is up to date at date of posting. I'm not sure why, but tleds was installed and on at boot. When the NumLock LED blinks in tune with the Ethernet port's TX/RX, it DISABLES the normally accessed with the Fn key, under the 7,8,9,u,i,o,j,k,l, etc. keys. So, if downloading a file at a continuous rate, about 40% of my keyboard is disabled. While the Scroll Lock LED does blink, it seems to have no adverse effects, although I can't be certain. After killing tleds, problem no longer persists. Website suggests the last update to it was 2005. I suggest it not install itself by default, or at the very least, not start automatically. ** Affects: tleds (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- tleds disables half the keyboard on some systems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128678 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
