@basos: I only set the power_profile. The /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_method has the value of "profile". My laptop luckily had temperature sensors, but I had to guess which sensor was the GPU sensor (the one that reacted the most and quickest when I changed the the power_profile settings). BTW, my card is: ATI Mobility Radeon X1600
