Hi guys. Just a suggestion. While I do not have a similar setup to test this in at the moment, I did have the same problem on a SuSE laptop recently, running kernel 2.6.22.1-default and wireless-tools-29pre10-22. Simply running "iwlist scan" seems to trigger the association and fix the problem. Is there a chance that this would fix it on Ubuntu too?
