Just confirming. It's still present in Edgy Eft Knot 2. It seems that /etc/kde3/kdm/backgroundrc points to "/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/kubuntu/kubuntu-wallpaper.png" which does not exist. It probably should be pointing to /usr/share/wallpapers /kubuntu-wallpaper.png or a similar image should be put in the KDM theme directory.
