The ThinkPad X60 has a wireless kill switch on the front, and using it to stop and start wireless seems to help on open networks.
After recent upgrades (now running 0.6.5-0ubuntu7) I've lost access to my WPA-protected AP, even from a vanilla Tribe 3 installation. It can connect (after a few tries), but then I get the messages nm_policy_device_change_check:: old_dev has_link? 1 SWITCH: terminating current connection 'eth1' because it's no longer valid. nm_device_is_802_3_ethernet: assertion `dev != NULL' failed nm_device_is_802_11_wireless: assertion `dev != NULL' failed and it shuts down. I'm also getting nm_policy_device_change_check:: old_dev has_link? 1 nm_policy_device_change_check:: old_dev && new_dev!! in the log every 130 seconds throughout the day. -- [Gutsy]Network Manager Applet can't connect wireless with ipw3945 driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121439 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
