Solution: Remove /etc/X11/xorg.conf Problem cause: Upgrading from older Ubuntu versions leaves the fglrx driver installed in xorg.conf. In ubuntu 13.04 this gives problems. Do not know why and how.
Installing the vesa driver is not a solution. Tip for the developers: Remove xorg.conf during installation if fglrx fails to load. Bug can be closed. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1175705 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1175705/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
