Hi Gunnar: Yes, I have tried it by installing the packages you just linked to. I needed to add the line 'skype-binary=1' to /etc/xdg/sni-qt.conf to get Skype into a usable state. (Otherwise, as bug #863190 describes there is no way to send a left click to the status icon which prevents re- activating the skype window). I should mention that I'm using the gnome-fallback desktop environment.
Could we put the `skype` binary in a different directory (like `/usr/lib/skype/`) to avoid renaming it? Or does Skype locating the other files it needs from the directory of the binary? -- $ cat /etc/xdg/sni-qt.conf [need-activate-action] clementine=1 mumble=1 skype=1 speedcrunch=1 skype-binary=1 $ apt-cache policy skype skype-bin skype: Installed: 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.13.04.1 Candidate: 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.13.04.1 Version table: *** 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.13.04.1 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 0 500 http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ raring/partner amd64 Packages skype-bin:i386: Installed: 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.13.04.1 Candidate: 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.13.04.1 Version table: *** 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.13.04.1 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 0 500 http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ raring/partner i386 Packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to qtwebkit-source in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1155327 Title: skype crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc@plt() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1155327/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
