Hi Thomas It all seems OK now, not that I use it much any more since its so crippled now. I have version .139-2 and it starts up OK, but there was a version that allowed filters and rules for putting attachments into specific places for different groups - it was awesome! Alas this went AWOL at some stage and never came back.
I hope it comes back in one day but I guess I'm not holding my breath! Thanks for getting back to me. Seems like the problem was something to do with Ubuntu or my particular setup!
