Oh my, that was like 5 years ago :) I still have that laptop although I did upgrade twice since then, and I also switched back from Ubuntu to Debian for a long list of reasons. I wonder how this bug wasn't killed by the "eh, we never replied to your bug, but it's been long enough that the distribution you used is now obsolete, so we're closing it" bug auto-closer bot.
