I lost HDMI upgrading to 13.04, running kernel 3.8.0-19-generic and Catalyst 13.4 stable. But aplay -l does return the following:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: HDMI [HDA ATI HDMI], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 0: ALC892 Analog [ALC892 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 1: ALC892 Digital [ALC892 Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 So why doesn't pulseaudio give me access to card 0? Is aplay just reading an old file which listed HDMI among audio sources, though it is no longer *really* available? Actually, HDMI is listed in alsamixer too, as card 0. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169761 Title: 3.8.0-18 Kernel causes HDMI Audio to stop working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1169761/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
