One day left. Are we to expect this bug in the "stable" release? Remember when Canonical said "Avoid the pain of Windows 8" on their home page of 12.10? How are we to take Ubuntu seriously when Windows beta's are more stable and have less bugs than Ubuntu's stable releases?
Ubuntu still boots slower than Windows 8, it launches apps slower, it has less games, less apps, and less choices for customization. The stock torrent apps indicator losses track of whether it is minimized or open when launched from the sidebar. i.e. the indicator does not show or incorrectly shows a check mark in the indicator drop down that does not coincide with whether the app is actually opened or not. This has existed for years. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/transmission/+bug/741582 Rhythmbox has text cut off because of Ubuntu's theme. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/light-themes/+bug/1171222 Samba does not work correctly unless a fix is applied. http://www.liberiangeek.net/2012/03/how-to-fix-failed-to-retrieve-share-list-from-server-in-ubuntu-12-04-11-10-when-file-sharing-with-windows/ Even my Windows mobile device from 2005 works better than Ubuntu. It can successfully play videos without parts of the interface appearing over the video. It's stock media player doesn't have cut off text in it's interface, It can also successfully connect to a Samba share over the network without applying fixes and tweaks. From 2005 and this device still works better than Ubuntu in 2013. Maybe instead of focusing on touch based and mobile based bull, you should first make an OS that works on PC's without a crap ton of visible bugs. All of this focus is now going to be given to Canonical's mobile based OS, and yet they still have been unable to make a PC based OS that can play video without bugs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170958 Title: [Regression] Panel shadow dropped on full screen windows after notification To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1170958/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
