What does exactly happen? Is your printer not seen at all or is it
assigned the wrong driver? Which one? If you start system-config-printer
and click "Add Printer", does your printer appear in the list of
detected printers? If you select it and in the next step select a
suitable driver (if your model is not listed something like "Generic
PostScript" or "Generic PCL ...", usually only works with lasers), can
you set up the printer and print?

If you printer can also be connected via network (Ethernet or WLAN), can
you set up the printer and print then?
