By the way, when the black screen occurs, my keyboard is unresponsive as I can't get my keyboard's Num Lock indicator to light up. Sysrq key combinations also fail to work (as noticed by the fact that the "b" combination does not result in a reboot and I don't get control over keyboard input back).
