Are we going to see progress on this? If not, perhaps it should be
removed from the ubuntu software archives since the program in it's
current state is absolutely broken.
We shouldn't have to compile from source - that's the point of using a
package manager such as aptitude. We also shouldn't have to use a PPA
for the same reason.
Either the package needs to be fixed, or it needs to be removed from the
software archives.
