Since a few days I have been getting the same problem on a Mint 14 Nadia 64 bit with Cinnamon 1.6.7 (I have all recent updates installed).
>From my observations, it always happens after I start Google Chrome with quite a few tabs. Then Cinnamon freezes, but luckily I am able to switch to a text console (CTRL+ALT+F1), log in and clearly see that cinnamon process is taking about 100% CPU. Killing it helps instantly, I am able to go back to the GUI (CTRL+ALT+F7). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1008197 Title: Cinnamon desktop freeze - no mouse actions, keyboard atl, ctrl, del works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1008197/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
