Work-around for Lenovo T530: The host has dual video adapters: an Intel integrated low-power and an NVidia discrete high-performance. The host has a special (AFAIK Windows-Only) mode with both video adapters running (one one stand-by) to be toggled by the OS. The mode is called 'NVidia Optimus' in the BIOS settings. With 'NVidia Optimus' the kernel crashes (or blanks-out). With 'Integrated' the kernel boots (and chooses i915 driver). With 'Discrete' the kernel boots (and chooses whatever nouveau/nv/nvidia is available).
So for the work-around: choose to use the Discrete OR the Integrated video adapter. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1158562 Title: system will not start after updating to kernel 3.5.0-27 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-quantal/+bug/1158562/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
