Thanks for your bugreport. I just tried to reproduce the problem here on my dapper install and I was unable to. Could you please run synaptic in a terminal with: $ sudo synaptic -o Debug::pkgProblemResolver=true -o Debug::pkgDepCache::AutoInstall=true
then select the packages and mark them for upgrade. Does that produce any meaningful output on the terminal? Can you paste the terminaloutput here?
