Yeah, Software Updater said the bug was already reported, too.  My
kernel version: 3.8.0-16-generic-3.8.0-16.26, ubuntu 13.04 (amd64).
I've been working with 13.04 for nearly a week, now, and this is the
first time Software Updater has acted up; it just sits there at
"Applying changes", and ig you click Details, it just sits there saying,
"Preconfiguring packages ..."
