Hi, I am running on Ubuntu 12.04.02 (latest) and since a few days this happening to me as well?? Before then when drag-dropping files from Dash Home it created a copy of the .desktop file in my ~/Desktop folder and gave it x permissions. Now it creates symlinks which obviously does not work: no image is displayed and its not executable.
