Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-app-install

This program hangs on the latest gutsy. It hung before restarted the
machine after update and could get back into it. After I ran it once
then I couldn't get back into it just sits there with a grey screen with
the cursor turning. If i do a sudo gnome-app-install from terminal it
will go into the program but puts out these errors:

***MEMORY-WARNING***: gnome-app-install[8174]: GSlice: g_thread_init() must be
called before all other GLib functions; memory corruption due to late
invocation of g_thread_init() has been detected; this program is likely to
crash, leak or unexpectedly abort soon...
warning: could not initiate dbus
