Public bug reported:

My Lenovo U300s Trackpad usually does not work (anymore). Sometimes it has
full functionality, and all of a sudden it will not cease responding to any
input, and I cannot correlate these events to anything. I see that the
trackpad is detected as a PS/2 Generic Mouse in these cases. The problem does
not solve itself on reboot, but seems to solve itself at random. The duty
cycle of the problem's occurance has increased from maybe 10% to 80% of the
time I use the laptop. Using an external mouse is a hassle. Attached are
outputs and files from:
dmesg
/proc/bus/input/devices
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
/proc/version_signature
lspci -vnvn
lsb_release -rd
apt-cache policy linux

Please, please advise. Thank you.
