I am also experiencing this problem with a new AMD64 X 2 based system running Feisty i386. This system has a single SATA hard drive and a PATA DVD writer. If I put a disk in the drive after resuming, the system locks up hard after about 1 minute. This problem does not occur with Hibernate, only Suspend.
