Is there any chance of this being fixed in Precise? Looking at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#When , it's not really a severe regression (2nd bullet point), but I believe it qualifies for "Obviously safe patch" and "Affects an application" (4th bullet point).
