i chose to change /lib/udev/rules.d/85-lvm2.rules to:
SUBSYSTEM=="block", ACTION=="add|change", ENV{ID_FS_USAGE}="raid", \
RUN+="watershed sh -c '/sbin/lvm vgscan; /sbin/lvm vgchange -a y'"
