Public bug reported: As reported in AskUbuntu (http://askubuntu.com/questions/215641/auctex-in-12-04-ignores-emacs-24) the AucTeX package in Ubuntu 12.04 doesn't get installed correctly for emacs 24. I can confirm this for 12.10. As a result opening .tex files in emacs 24 will not load auctex and the AucTeX menus (and other functionality) don't appear. The solution ( a one digit addition to the install script) is also mentioned in the askUbuntu thread.
Apparently Debian has already fixed this: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=683032 I am using the following version of the auctex package: 11.86-2ubuntu2 ** Affects: auctex (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1149196 Title: AucTeX doesn't get installed correctly with emacs 24 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/auctex/+bug/1149196/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
