Confirmed here too. Having trouble using 12.10 gvfs SMB client talking to an Ubuntu 12.10 Samba server. Stalls when copying directory structures to server. There is gigabit networking between nodes.
smbstatus on server displays one locked file at the point of hang: Locked files: Pid Uid DenyMode Access R/W Oplock SharePath Name Time -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 30587 1000 DENY_NONE 0x120196 WRONLY NONE </some/share> <some-file.123> Fri Mar 1 09:37:27 2013 When hang occurs, the only remedy is to kill smb-related gvfs-processes. What a regression .. :/ autofs + CIFS kernel module is probably a better bet stability and performance-wise. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923 Title: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1075923/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
