kernel panic with 3.8.0.8 on RR i386 :

....
RAMDISK : gzip image found at block 0
usb 2-1 : new low-speed USB device number 2 using uhci_hcd
usb 2-1 : new usb device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c50e
usb 2-1 : new usb device strings : Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 2-1 : Product : USB RECEIVER
usb 2-1 : Manufacturer: Logitech
RAMDISK : incomplete write (17781 != 18854)
write error
VFS: Cannot open root device "UUID= ...." or unknown-block(0,0): error -6
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
.....

note: when i get a kernel panic, i can see random errors (like:
uncompressed error, or else), but its always about that ramdisk issue.
