Hi Daniel It is indeed annoying and a big cock up in a long term release version of Ubuntu if you ask me!
The only work around I have found is quite inelegant...but it works. I have set up a virtual machine using VirtualBox running Xubuntu 11.10 and use Remmina in that. It's the only way I could see that would allow me to use up to date ubuntu release and Remmina together. Given this bug is over a year old and there is no progress whatsoever on it it makes me worried that it is low priority / no priority which is disappointing.
