When you say your system freezes, do you mean that it is a hard hang
(not accessible via the network or even pingable), or just the display
subsystem is static?

There have been a number of kernel fixes since 3.5 that are relevant for
the pageflip-vs-modeset races that are similar to what you describe. Can
you please retest with, say, raring?
