The patch between rc17 and 1.0? That's a 18668 line diff.

Indeed they do, but when many of the changelog entries simply say "Index
view syncing fixes" or "More index file handling fixes", it's next to
impossible to identify the specific patch that fixes this particular
issue. Also, finding out if said patch depends on any of the previous
patches is going to be a lot of work.

I've taken a peek at the diff and doesn't look like it introduced any
significant config file changes (deprecated a config option, added
another), so it doesn't sound all that invasive.
